Twelve patients with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita have been experienced and followed up for more htan 1 year since September, 1983 at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Guro Hospital, the Korea University College of Medicine. They were 9
boys
and
3 girls with the ages ranging from 2 days to 5 years. Associated deformities included congenital club foot (7 patients), hand and writs contractures (5 patients0, hip deformity with (2 patients) or without dislocation (3 patients), knee joint
flexion
deformity (3 patients), genu recurvatum (3 patients) and bilateral elbow contracture (1 patient). Treatments offered were splinting and physical therapy for eight patients, surgical correction of club foot for three patients and surgical release
of
knee
joint contractures for one patient. The clinical characteristics of the patients and joint deformities were disscused with review of literatures.
